DON’T EXPECT GIANTS TO TRADE SAQUON BARKLEY, RAP SHEET SAYS

By Michael Grimm

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Saquon Barkley is “not expected” to be traded this offseason.

Asked this week if the Giants would consider trading Barkley this offseason, new general manager Joe Schoen said he’s “open to anything” with personnel moves.

Ending the Barkley/Daniel Jones era would represent a clean split from the disastrous Dave Gettleman era, though it looks like the Giants will see what Jones and Barkley have left before their contracts expire at the end of the 2022 season.

SNY’s Ralph Vacchiano said last month that he does not expect the team to re-sign Barkley. It’s hard to imagine many teams champing at the bit to trade for the running back this offseason.
