EAGLES WILL NEED A LOT MORE OF ROOK JORDAN DAVIS AGAINST VIKES!
By Art Beitchman
The Eagles moved up to No. 13 in April’s NFL draft to select giant defensive lineman Jordan Davis to help plug up the middle and help to stop the run.
Last year the Birds got gashed by many teams, and last Sunday the Detroit Lions did the same in the 38-35 Birds win.
Why defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon didn’t use Davis more is still a mystery. Maybe later this week more answers will come to light.
The game stats reveal Davis was in the game for 22 out of the 89 defensive snaps, just 32%.
The Lions ran for 10 yards per carry when Davis was on the sideline, but when he played that number went down to 3 yards per carry!
It’s a shame the Eagles DC could not see sooner what was happening on the field mid game, he will now but will he adjust the snaps Davis gets this Monday night versus the Vikings, we shall see.
