GIANTS RESTRUCTURE DANIEL JONES, FREEING UP $6.315M CAP SPACE!
By Max Harper
The Giants restructured QB Daniel Jones’ contract, freeing up $6.315 million in cap space.
The Giants converted $8.42 million of Jones’ base salary into a signing bonus to get this done.
Whether this is a move to free up space to sign a veteran player, or to have available heading into the season is anybody’s guess, but this move gives the Giants some cap flexibility heading into Week 1.
Jones is fresh off signing a four-year, $160 million contract this offseason, and could see his deal restructured a number of times in the future to clear room for additional signings.
