HARDEN REVERTS TO HOUSTON JAMES — SIXERS AND HEAT ARE EVEN
By Art Beitchman
When Sixers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey acquired James Harden on February 10th he had in mind what Harden and Joel Embiid could do in the playoffs.
Last night we saw it.
Harden popped 31 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, and dished 9 assists in the Sixers 116-108 thriller in game 4 to tie the Eastern Conference semifinals at 2-2.
Coupled with Joel Embiid’s 24-point, 11-rebound effort, the Sixers delivered a 1-2 punch the Heat could not overcome, even with star forward Jimmy Butler’s 40 points — it was not enough.
Harden’s big 4th quarter on 6-10 shooting from 3-point land broke the Heat’s back as they had no defense for Beard’s hot shooting to put the game away.
It’s now a 3-games series to see who moves on to the conference finals, game-5 is Tuesday night in Miami.
