HOW SIXERS MORE THAN TREAD WATER WITHOUT HARDEN, MAXEY AND EMBIID!
By Art Beitchman
Sixers fans had every reason to think the roof would cave in after Joel Embiid, James Harden and Tyrese Maxey were sidelined with foot injuries.
But coach Doc Rivers inserted a couple bench players to carry the load, and they did.
Shake Milton has averaged 23 points, 6 assists, 6 rebounds in Maxey’s absence. De’Anthony Melton has also started at guard, giving the points and defense in Harden’s place.
Paul Reed has also played some productive minutes as Embiid healed a sore ankle last week.
Suddenly the Sixers have won 6 out of their last 10 games, and with Embiid back they beat a feisty Hawks with the big guy chipping in his usual 30 points.
They travel to Cleveland to take on the up and coming Cavs at 7pm tonight.
