JEAN SEGURA GETS THE STOTT SPLASH AFTER WALK-OFF SINGLE WINS IT FOR PHILS
By Melody Miller
Jean Segura sent the Phillies home a winner with a walk-off RBI single in the ninth inning to propel the Phillies to a 3-2 victory over the Marlins.
The Phillies got things going against Tommy Nance in the ninth inning as Bryce Harper lined a one-out double to left field.
Marlins manager Don Mattingly then opted to walk J.T. Realmuto intentionally — setting the stage for Segura.
He responded by lining an 0-1 slider into right field for the game-winning knock.
The 32-year-old finished the night 1-for-4 and is now hitting .287/.345/.408 with eight homers, 27 RBI and 13 swipes in 290 plate appearances.
