JOEL EMBIID MADE HISTORY (101 PTS IN LAST 2 GAMES) JUST WHEN SIXERS NEEDED IT
By Art Beitchman
The historic offensive explosion provided by Sixers star center Joel Embiid over the weekend resulted in two desperately need victories.
Especially considering they were playing without injured James Harden.
Embiid scored 42 points in a win over the Atlanta Hawks Hawks last Saturday night. Then the next night against the Utah Jazz he exploded for a career-high 59 points, 26 in the 4th quarter, including 5 blocked shots as the Sixers needed every bit of that production to squeak out the win over the pesky Jazz.
After the game Embiid said he was determined to do more, anything the team needed to win games in the absence of Harden.
With those two monster games over the weekend Embiid jumped up to No. 2 in the NBA scoring race behind only Mavericks star Luka Doncic who has a 34.4 average, Embiid at 32.3, and climbing.
