MEMO TO HURTS-HATERS: WHAT ARE YOU SAYING AFTER HIS PERFORMANCE AGAINST VIKES?
By Martin Skipper
Jalen Hurts completed 26-of-31 passes for 333 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the Eagles’ 24-7, Week 2 win over the Viking, adding 11 carries for 57 yards and two additional touchdowns.
All of the scoring in this one came in the first half, as Hurts got the scoring started with a three-yard touchdown run, dragging a couple defenders with him to cross the goal line on a straight keeper.
The second came from 26 yards away, and he essentially willed himself into the end zone, spinning through a couple defenders trying to strip him of the football.
Hurts is now up to 28-147-3 as a rusher through two games. And on top of that, he tossed his first touchdown of the year with a 53-yard heave to Quez Watkins deep down the middle.
Hurts was unstoppable in the Eagles’ home opener and would have had a much bigger night in the box score if the Vikings were at all competitive.
Hurts has the overall QB1 upside every time he takes the field and will get a road date with the Commanders in Week 3.
