The MLB regular season has been going on for a little bit over five weeks. Some teams are already in great shape to start the year and some teams are already in a rut. This sport is a marathon and not a sprint.
Even the best teams in baseball will hit a rough patch at some point because no one can be perfect. MLB picks today for the 2022 World Series have been made by analysts and will continue to change as the season progresses. Who are currently the updated favorites to win the 2022 World Series?
Los Angeles Dodgers +450
The Los Angeles Dodgers are currently the favorites once again to win the World Series Title. To no surprise, Los Angeles is currently leading the National League West. However, just like last year, they will be in a dog fight with the San Francisco Giants. The Colorado Rockies and the San Diego Padres appear to be much improved, but the Los Angeles Dodgers are still the class in that division.
Los Angeles has a loaded lineup with Trea Turner, Cody Bellinger, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and Justin Turner. Walker Buehler is one of the best starting pitchers in all of baseball. This is just a very hard baseball team to beat on a night-to-night basis.
Manager Dave Roberts usually presses all of the right buttons for the most part, especially with the bullpen. This is also a heavily analytically driven baseball team as well.
Toronto Blue Jays +800
The Toronto Blue Jays are the second favorites to win the 2022 World Series. Toronto seems to be the best team in the American League on paper. They are currently in first place in the American League East, but the Blue Jays will be in a back-and-forth battle with the New York Yankees and the Tampa Bay Rays.
The Boston Red Sox have appeared to take a step backward this year after being in the ALCS last year. The Blue Jays lineup from top to bottom could be impossible to stop on various nights. Vladimir Gurerrero Jr. might be the early favorite to win the American League MVP Award for the 2022 regular season
Toronto has other dangerous bats in the lineup like George Springer, Teoscar Hernandez, Lourdes Gurriel Jr., Cavan Biggio, and Bo Bichette. Charlie Montoyo is the team’s manager and Alek Manoah needs to pitch like an ace and the bullpen needs to be good for them.

The New York Mets have the third-best odds to win the 2022 World Series. Their odds improved from the start of the regular season in baseball. New York has the best record in the National League East by a mile and everybody else is under .500 in the division.
The Mets appear to be the second-best team in the National League at the current moment right behind the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Atlanta Braves appear to have a World Series hangover and the Philadelphia Phillies are a current mess. New York has been impressive because of manager Buck Showalter holding this team accountable night in and night out.
Francisco Lindor appears to be having a great season so far. Pete Alonso seems to take leadership of this ballclub. Mark Cahna, Starling Marte, and Eduardo Escobar appear to have been great offseason acquisitions in the field. The New York Mets currently have the best starting pitching ERA in all of baseball thanks to Tylor Megill, Max Scherzer, Chris Bassitt, Carlos Carrasco, and Taijuan Walker. This is all without Jacob deGrom, and can the bullpen hold its end of the bargain?

The Houston Astros and the New York Yankees both currently have the fourth-best odds to win the 2022 World Series. Houston has gotten off to a slow start and they are currently in fourth place in the American League West. New York is currently in second place in the American League East.
