MLB SETTLEMENT WITH UNION REPORTEDLY POSSIBLE TODAY
By Sam Bush
Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports that the “possibility of a CBA deal before daybreak [is] still alive.”
The owners had set a deadline for Tuesday night, but they also did the same thing last week and talks ultimately pushed on through — or at least eventually resumed.
At this stage, MLB officials are reviewing the MLBPA’s late-night counterproposal, which is presumably going to move the needle closer on the core economic issues that have yet to be resolved.
The two sides seem committed to maintaining overnight discussions with an aim of striking a deal before regular season games have to officially be canceled.
