SIXERS CAMP OPENS IN LESS THAN A MONTH IN SOUTH CAROLINA
By Art Beitchman
As the summer winds down, the new NBA basketball is within eye shot with 76ers training camp scheduled to open September 28th in Charleston, South Carolina.
They will take camp on the road at The Citadel through Oct. 2.
Head coach Doc Rivers wants the newly assembled team to bond without distractions before the team starts a new season with one of the most potent rosters in the Association.
There might be some tinkering to the final roster before the regular season begins, and Philly native Markieff Morris has been mentioned as a backup power forward to add some further toughness to the team.
He could be a bench piece that could give them rebounding when the starters sit, but no move has been made yet as the new edition of the Sixers looks to contend in the East with their sights on the NBA Finals next June.
