SIXERS PLAYED HARDBALL AND THEN THEY SETTLED SIMMONS RIDICULOUS $20M CLAIM

By Tommy Matthews

Ben Simmons has reportedly reached a settlement agreement with the 76ers on the portion of the $20 million which was withheld from him due to his failure to appear in games last season.

The 76ers maintained that Simmons breached his contract by not showing up for work, while Simmons remained adamant that it was his mental health that prevented him from doing so, but both sides agreed to confidentiality on the exact financial figures of this settlement agreement.

Let’s see if he ever plays for Brooklyn, where he was traded for James Harden.

Simmons was the No. 1 pick by the 76ers in 2016 and became an All-Star.

But he was heavily criticized after he struggled when the top-seeded 76ers were upset by Atlanta in the 2021 Eastern Conference semifinals.

Simmons then cited mental health concerns for not playing last season.

He then had back problems in Brooklyn and ended up missing the entire season.
