SO, WHAT’S THE STORY ON ANDREW PAINTER’S ELBOW?!
By Sally Fahey
According to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com, the Phillies are waiting for the results of a second opinion on Andrew Painter’s medical exams on his right elbow.
It’s been over a week since Painter underwent additional testing after experiencing right elbow tenderness following his spring training debut.
The 19-year-old righty hasn’t thrown since and is no longer in contention to make the club’s Opening Day rotation.
Zolecki adds that multiple source have indicated that Painter hasn’t been told that he’ll wind up requiring surgery.
