VIKES ARE A LOT BETTER THAN LIONS — EAGLES BETTER BE READY
The biggest lesson is that DC Jonathan Gannon should play rook Jordan Davis a hell of a lot more!
Eagles Nation was eagerly waiting to see their favorite team take the field again, and last Sunday they did not disappoint.
The game started off with a bit of back-and-forth scoring, but the Eagles really took control eventually. They ended up winning 38-35.
It was a great game to watch, and the fans were definitely into it. The stadium was rocking, and the atmosphere was electric. The Eagles played great but did they deserve to win?
Well, one thing that fans noticed was that their defense is wanting.
The Game Recap
Generally, the game was pretty tough, but the Eagles managed to win 38-35. Prior to a late Lion run that reduced the score to three, the team had led by as many as 17 points for the majority of the game. The Eagles offense, led by Jalen Hurts, then went on a spectacular four-minute drive to seal the victory late in the game.
After having high expectations heading into the season, the Eagles struggled to live up to them early on, falling behind 7-0 after the Lions’ DeAndre Swift and Jamaal Williams-led first drive blitz.
Later, Philly would score 21 points in a second-quarter explosion that featured AJ Brown, their most recent addition. Brown helped quarterback Jalen Hurts win Ford Field’s first standing-room-only game since 2017 by catching 10 passes for 155 yards on the day, the most by an Eagle receiver in their debut since T.O.
Hurts contributed 334 total yards and a rushing touchdown. His lone point brought the game to a draw at seven. The Eagles’ starting quarterback completed 18 of his 32 passes for more than 240 yards. He also gained 90 yards on the run, which contributed to Philadelphia’s offense scoring more than 30 points overall.
Hurts and the Eagles went on a six-play, 66-yard drive that ended with Miles Sanders scoring his first touchdown in two seasons.
The Eagles’ offense totaled over 450 yards and was productive 10-17 times on third down.
In the whole team, it is only AJ Brown who had more than three catches or four targets. With 10 receptions on 13 targets, he was Jalen Hurts’ preferred receiver.
The Eagles acquired brown from Tennessee in exchange for the Number 18 pick and a 3rd round selection, and he was given a four-year deal for at least $57 million.
With the most receiving yards by a player in his Philadelphia debut, Brown quickly paid back the team’s investment.
Eagles Defense needs some work
How can you explain giving up 35 points to a team that was averaging only 17 coming in? When you look at the game, it’s clear the Eagles’ secondary has some holes that need to be fixed.
The poor execution, missed tackles, and bad decision-making was on full display.
So, what should the Eagles do to improve their defense?
Train harder
Perhaps the most important thing the Eagles can do right now is to train harder. They need to work on their communication and discipline in the field. It is never too late to make adjustments and learn from your mistakes.
All players should take a look at the tape and learn from their individual mistakes. They can also use this opportunity to see where they need to help their teammates improve.
Improve their strategy
In the same way you need to have a strategy when playing at SlotoCash Casino, the Eagles need to come up with a better strategy for their next game.
The good news is that they have the talent to win. They just need to make some adjustments and be more disciplined on the field.
They need to improve their defense and change their strategy. They should focus on stopping the run first and foremost. This will put more pressure on the opposing team’s quarterback and make it easier to defend the pass.
Get new players
Another option for the Eagles is to get new players. They could look into free agency or even trades. This could be a risky move, but if they don’t do something to improve their defense, they’re not going to be able to compete with the best teams in the league.
Improve their communication
Teamwork makes the dream work. This is especially true in football. The Eagles need to do a better job of communicating with each other on the field.
They need to be on the same page and know what their teammates are doing at all times. This will help them make better decisions and execute their plays more effectively.
There is hope!
The bottom line is that the Eagles have the potential to be a great team, but they need to work harder and smarter if they want to win a championship.
Now, they will turn their attention to the next game on their schedule. They will be looking to keep their winning ways going and pick up another victory. Hopefully, they can do it and continue their march toward the playoffs.
With all the support from their fans and the city of Philadelphia, they have a chance to make a run and bring home a Trophy. Let’s go Eagles, let’s go!
