WATCH BAILEY FALTER PUTTING A CORK IN PHILLIES PITCHING LEAK
By Peter Marx
Bailey Falter surrendered one run on five hits over 6 1/3 innings in the Phils win over the Diamondbacks.
Falter allowed a solo homer to Jake McCarthy in the bottom of the fourth inning. It helped that the Phillies worked out to a 5-0 lead before the D-Backs were even able to get on the board.
The 25-year-old left-hander struck out six without walking a batter in the sharp win. Falter has now worked a quality start in four straight outings. He will try for his fifth straight QS when he carries his 4.08 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 52/13 K/BB ratio (14 appearances; 10 starts; 57 1/3 innings) into a home matchup with the Marlins next time out.
