WILL GIANTS SAQUON BARKLEY EVER RUN INJURY-FREE AGAIN?

WILL GIANTS SAQUON BARKLEY EVER RUN INJURY-FREE AGAIN?

By Michael Bennett

The Giants just got more worrisome news regarding injuries ahead of this Sunday’s game at the Los Angeles Chargers.

According to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk, the Giants listed starting running back Saquon Barkley as limited in a walkthrough practice because of a new ankle injury. Barkley missed four contests earlier this season after he hurt his ankle in the 44-20 loss at the Dallas Cowboys on Oct. 10 and, truth be told, hasn’t looked like the dynamic ball-carrier of old since returning to the lineup:

The second overall pick from the 2018 NFL Draft went for 55 yards on 11 carries with six catches for 19 yards in this past Sunday’s loss at the Miami Dolphins that dropped Big Blue to 4-8. Thus far this season, Barkley has accumulated 315 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 84 carries (3.8 yards per attempt) with 30 receptions for 193 yards and an additional score.
